Always inventive
The design elevates charitable housing to a standard of excellence.
This development represents
a logical expansion of
The St Francis Center's
distinguished support
for the needs of Denver's
most vulnerable homeless
population. With 25 years of
assistance to the homeless
in the Shelter on Curtis
Street, The St Francis Center
is seeking to provide an
extension of that support
by giving low income
and formerly homeless
individuals and families
a source of permanent
affordable housing, near
jobs, transportation and
vital services. St. Francis
Housing will create 40 units
of affordable housing on
the site at 1001-1011 Park
Avenue West, at the corner
of Curtis St. and Park Avenue
West, adjacent to the St
Francis Center day shelter for
the homeless. The building
is currently occupied by
a hotel, restaurant and a
thrift store. The existing
building on the site was
poorly constructed and has
deteriorated, and will be
demolished.
