The renovation of existing buildings transformed a ranch into a
public nature center.
A private home and garage
were renovated, and, with a
sizable addition, transformed
from a ranch into a public
nature center. An open
floor plan design provided
maximum space flexibility,
accommodating the changing
needs of a fascinating variety
of exhibit and educational
programs. A tower,
positioned in one corner of
the structure, is reminiscent
of a grain elevator, a
structure inherent on a
working ranch. This design
feature increased the volume
of exhibit space, served as
a guide for Sand Creek trail
users and pinpointed the
center as a destination for
the public.*
